Welcome to the Ebenezer Gospel Hall Website! We are a community of people who follow the Lord Jesus Christ in Killamarsh, Derbyshire, have a passion to know and live his Word, and a desire to tell others the good news.
Ebenezer is firmly Bible-based, and family-friendly; if you live in Killamarsh, are visiting the area, or are thinking of moving to the area we would love to have you visit us.

Easter Sunday
One particular quote that has been going round on social media is “the churches are empty and so is the grave”
We are constantly reminded that our usual way of life has been disrupted. For a lot of Christians this is most felt on Sunday when they are not able to gather together to remember the Lord Jesus Christ. However, although church buildings across the country, and most of the world, will be empty on a day they would typically gather to focus on the empty tomb, we can still all dwell on the great victory the Lord had over death. Some of the bible verses that a lot of people may choose to focus on today in particular are “why seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen” (Luke chapter 24 v5-6) and “O death where is thy sting? O grave where is thy victory?” (1 Corinthians 15 v55)
As the daily news briefings are occurring, it is sometimes natural for us to worry about things like how long will be in lockdown for, how long will it be until the spread of the virus is contained, and when a cure will be developed. We can think of many occasions throughout the bible when people were worried about the problems that they encountered in their lives as well, but since it’s Easter Sunday it would be good to look at Mark 16 v 3. Here it mentions that Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome were talking amongst themselves and were wondering “Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” Here they were worrying about a problem that God had already taken care of and solved in his timing. Not even COVID-19 is beyond His power and nothing is too difficult for him to do. The solution is known to Him and He will make it known to us in His timing.
Good Friday
Today is Good Friday, a day where the Lord Jesus Christ was crucified on the cross for all of our sins. It's known as Good Friday because this was a victory over sin and gave us a way to believe on the Lord Jesus and to personally know Him, we trust you will take this step of faith this Easter.
Corona Virus Update
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, we have decided to stop all of our meetings in the Gospel Hall. We feel that this is in line with current Government advice to limit social contact and to protect the most vulnerable in our society.
We are very willing to be of assistance to all in our community during this time - if you need anything (shopping, prescriptions picked up etc), please send us a message and we will get back to you promptly.
